Dandavathi River

Dandavathi is a small river flowing in Soraba taluk of Shivamogga district. The source of the Dandavati river is at Kattinakere near Kuppe village, 15 km south of Soraba town, in Soraba taluk, Kattinakere Kodi and the surrounding water flows together to form the Dandavati river. The Dandavati River has a total catchment area of ​​118.88 sq. km, lying between 75° E and 75° 30’E.

The Dandavati River flows northwards for 55 km and joins the Varada River at a place called Bankasana near Anavatti. Next the Varada River joins the Tungabhadra River and then the Tungabhadra River joins the Krishna River and finally joins the Bay of Bengal on the east coast of India.

Shivamogga is surrounded by beautiful natural spots including waterfalls, forests and hills, making it a favorite destination for nature lovers and trekkers. The serene atmosphere and pleasant climate of this region attracts tourists from different parts of the country.
