Bannihatti Parameshwarappa Dakshayani
Bannihatti Parameshwarappa Dakshayani is the former Group Director of the Flight Dynamics and Space Navigation Groups at the Indian Space Research Organization’s Satellite Centre. He was born in Bhadravati.
He studied Mathematics at the University of Mysore and graduated with a Masters in 1981. After graduation, he worked at Sir Visvesvaraya Institute of Science & Technology teaching Mathematics. In 1988, he completed his Masters in Aerospace Engineering at the Indian Institute of Science.
Dakshayani was appointed to the Indian Space Research Organization’s Satellite Center in 1984. She was assigned to Computer Programming and Orbital Dynamics. He had never seen a computer when he applied, so had to teach himself in the evenings. The software she designed to generate trajectories was used in several space missions.
Shivamogga is surrounded by beautiful natural spots including waterfalls, forests and hills, making it a favorite destination for nature lovers and trekkers. The serene atmosphere and pleasant climate of this region attracts tourists from different parts of the country.
