Sakkare Bailu
Sakerbailu or Sakrebailu is an elephant training camp in Shimoga district. Sakrebailu Elephant Sanctuary is located at a distance of 13.8 km from Shimoga.
Activities like elephant training and elephant rides for tourists are held in this camp near Gajanur Dam. The camp is open for tourists from 8 am to 11 am every day. After this time the elephants are released into the wild. The elephants who stay overnight in the forest are brought back to the camp in the early morning.
