Gudavi Bird Sanctuary
Gudavi bird sanctuary is located in Soraba taluk of Karnataka state. This bird sanctuary is 377 km from Bangalore, the capital city of Karnataka and it is 16 km from Soraba town. Gudavi Bird Sanctuary is located on the road to Banavasi at Gudavi in Soraba Taluk.
The bird sanctuary is one of the top five parts of Karnataka. It is spread over an area of 0.74 sq km. According to the survey, 217 different species of birds belonging to 487 families are found in this place. A natural lake and trees provide shelter for these birds.
The trees along the banks of Gudavi Lake are a beautiful sight. It is a small seasonal lake that is mostly filled with water during the rainy season. Different avian species migrate around the world during different seasons for breeding. A platform has been built for bird watchers to see the birds up close.
After the onset of monsoon, more than 200 birds migrate. They go back after breeding. From June to December you can hear the chirping of birds in Gudavi. Can see the Banadis.
