Nadakalsi
Nadakalasi Temple is a small village near Sagar Nagar in Shimoga district of Karnataka. It is 395 km from Bangalore. is far away. Nadakalasi Temple is 13 km from Sagar Town and it is 75 km from Shimoga. It’s Sagar Nagar (SRF) Railway Station is the nearest railway station and is 13 km away.
Nadakalasi has a small Shiva temple. The Pandavas are said to have rested at Nadakalasi during their exile. The Nadakalasi temple complex has two temples, one for Mallikarjuna and the other for Rameswara. The Nadkalasi temple complex is at least 1200 years old. It is not said that these pair of temples were built by the Hoysala king Balayanna Heggade in 1218 AD.
Another special feature is the pillar called Jiralekallu here. The priests here wet the soil and give it magic. It seems that the leg pain is correct. Locals say that many people who are mentally deranged and childless come here and are worthy of the glory of this Jiralekal.
The design of the surrounding pradakshinapatha joining the navaranga is usually found in the Dravidian style. It is very rare in Hoysala style and can be found here, says the information board. Opposite this is a Nandi. As there is no light inside the sanctum sanctorum, it is a blessing to see Sri Rameshwar in the light of Mangalarati.
