Bandashlik Temple Complex consists of four temples spread over 10 acres of hills and valleys. The complex is more or less like a garden, with lots of tall trees providing ample shelter. And the place is well maintained. Among the four temples are Trimurti Narayana (Vishnu) Gudi and Someshwar Gudi (Shiva-Linga). Close to the entrance are the Trimurti Narayan temple and the Mahishamardini temple. The Bandashika temple complex is a great place to relax.

Here you can find sculptures and inscriptions from the Rashtrakuta and Kadamba periods. Shantinath Basadi, Sahasralinga Temple and Someswara Trimurti Temple are other places to visit.

Built in 1160, it is a Trikutachala temple of the Kalyana Chalukya period. All three cells have decorative doorways flanked by niches. The west cell has a well-carved Sinhala in its inner doorway. The height of the temple is tough. The wall is surmounted by a turret and niches flanked by slender pilasters. The superstructures above the garbhagrihas include a typical Tritala sikhara with a square stupa. The interior is not spacious but the artwork is beautiful.

I am in Someshwara temple two minutes away. Also known as Boppeswara Temple, it was built by Boppa Setty in AD. Built in 1274. Thus it is an austere temple with a garbhagriha, antarala and a pillared mandapa with a porch in the east. Western perspective. The entrance gate has four ornate doors with well-carved images of gatekeepers and apsaras at the base.
